Used 1960 Ferrari 250 GTE for sale in Norwood, Massachusetts
In the 1950's the 250 GTE was unveiled as Ferrari's first large production four seat model. This idea evolved into a new series of Ferrari 2+2's. The GTE was marketed more as a luxurious car while the 2+2's were made for grand touring. With more space being needed to fit the two extra seats the 250's engine and auxiliaries were to be moved 20 cm forward and the bodywork had to be extended as well. This addition to the length of the car did not hurt the cars performance with it being able to go up to 130 mph and handled well for the larger bass that it was compared to the sport's cars. The car is penned with PininFarina who was Enzo Ferrari's favorite designer. Also, the 250 GTE got a set of Borrani wire wheels to set it apart from the ordinary two-door coupe. The GTE had a rear car seat for two adults, genuine leather seats that were slightly bucketed and an armrest in between them to help with making long drives more pleasant for those in the back.
