Used 1971 BSA Thunderbolt for sale in OFallon, Illinois
Gateway Classic Cars of Saint Louis is proud to offer a 1971 BSA Thunderbolt. Birmingham Small Arms (BSA) produced motorcycles from their meager beginnings in 1910 all the way until 1972. This particular Thunderbolt is one of the last. The Thunderbolt utilizes an air-cooled 654cc parallel twin cylinder engine with a single carburetor. This set up is good for 46 horsepower and will propel the bike over 100 MPH. It has a 4-speed manual transmission with the British shifter/brake pedal placement (brake left, shifter right). It uses large drum brakes both front and rear and chain drive. The overall riding experience is a delight and the 650 twin makes a sweet sound. This 1971 BSA Thunderbolt has been treated to a loving frame off restoration less than 100 miles ago. Everything has been refinished or replaced and the result is simply, beautiful. It has been kept mostly original save for an upgraded Mikuni carburetor, an upgraded ignition system, and an optional tank from a Triumph. The original tank has been beautifully refinished as well for those that prefer an original look. The bike starts easily with the upgraded ignition and is ready to ride. Stand out from the crowd at the next bike night with this beauty. Dont miss out on this unique Thunderbolt.
