Despite the typical factory one color paint jobs, it was added at the request of the original buyer and was applied by the dealer when originally purchased! This multiple award winning 1962 Valiant V-200 for sale has only had 1 owner and it is easy to see the love and care they had for this car over the last 56 years! Just walking past this car takes you back to a simpler time when the cars we drove were not just modes of transportation but rather reflection of our personalities. In 1962 Valiant was given a completely new instrument cluster. Like that of the larger 1962 Plymouth models, the new Valiant cluster was highly regarded for its clean design and easy readability. A large round speedometer was placed at the left of the cluster, with separate round gauges for fuel level, engine temperature, and charging system condition (amperes) in a row to the right of the speedometer. Under the hood is possibly the most reliable engine Mopar ever built, the 170 cubic inch Slant 6 engine was bolted in at the factory all those years ago. Still starts and drive with ease! While its not as impressive as a Hemi V8, these little engines never left one stranded. The engine is mated to an automatic transmission for ease of operation. The Automatic transmission pushbuttons are in a column at the left edge of the panel, and heater pushbuttons are in a column at the right edge. A new shallower-dish steering wheel was also introduced. The exhaust system is made of more corrosion-resistant (aluminized) materials, and axle ratios are altered for better fuel economy.
