VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1969 Jaguar E Type for sale in Dearborn, Michigan

Gateway Classic Cars is proud to offer a very low mileage, all original, 1969 Jaguar XKE Coupe for sale in our Detroit Showroom. This 1969 Jaguar comes with all the documentation that you will need to ensure its collectability status. The Series II E-Type Jaguars had the most distinctive design cue changes. Other hallmarks of Series 2 cars are a wrap-around rear bumper, re-positioned and larger front indicators and tail lights below the bumpers, an enlarged mouth which aided cooling but detracted for the Series I design purity, twin electric fans, plastic rocker switches in place of the Series I toggle switches, and, of course most importantly, a material downgrading in performance resulting from a switch from the three SU carburetors used in Series I models to a mere two smogged Stromberg carbs, reducing horsepower from 265 to 246 and reducing torque from 283 to 263. The 6-cylinder twin overhead camshaft XK engine is paired to a dual-drive automatic transmission which will make cruising in this beauty a fun experience every time. Finished in classic and desirable Sable Brown with a beautiful Onyx interior, this Series II has been beautifully maintained and driven just 9,612 miles from new. It drives and performs incredibly well and comes fully documented with its Jaguar Heritage Certificate and owner’s manual. This exceptionally original car makes a wonderful appearance, although, upon close examination, it does show some patina in the original paint which only adds to the charm of this great motorcar.
