For sale in our Chicago showroom is this 1966 Ford Mustang Factory GT Convertible. Powered by the original 289 4V V8 and paired to the original T-10 4 speed manual transmission. This car was pulled out of a barn in 2016 after sitting inside the barn since 1976. It is believed to have been parked for all these years since the last sticker on the car was dated 1976. It was still sporting the original paint during its rescue and the odometer read about 75,000 miles which is believed to be original mileage. Since 2016 the car has been repainted in Kirkers Candy Apple Red, and received a full rotisserie restoration. Having been awaken from its long hibernation it received all the tender loving care it needed. No part of this car was left untouched. The engine was taken apart and rebuilt and the original Carb and distributor were too. The engine currently has only about 700 miles since the engine rebuild was competed in 2017. The rear end is 8 inch open with 3.00 gears. The suspension was replaced for a smoother ride while maintaining its originality. It received; new upper and lower control arms, KYB shocks, strut rod bushings, sway bar links, rear shackles, and restored springs, spindles, linkages, steering box,and sway bar. The interior is a clean black vinyl with bucket seats. The stereo has been upgraded to a custom autosound with AM/FM and MP3. It received 2 front dual voice coil speakers and in the rear it has pioneer speakers that havent been mounted to retain the factory look and originality. They are easily plugged in for easy removal. Behind the back seats lies the Jensen 400W amp to give this ride a great stereo set up. It has been restored keeping it as original as possible turning this Mustang into a very nice driver, and is sure to get the attention of any Mustang enthusiast!
