VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1974 Toyota FJ40 for sale in Houston, Texas

Now for sale in the Houston showroom is one of the more unique examples that youll find of the world-renowned off-road legend, the Toyota FJ40 Land Cruiser. These trucks are legendary in off-roading groups for being reliable and extremely agile due to their short wheel base. Given their track record in some inhospitable places, its easy to see why these are growing tremendously in market value. However, all those wonderful features also make finding a nice one challenging, since so many of these trucks have been bashed, abused, and just plain used up in the years before they made it to the collectors A-list. Under the hood is where you will see why the license plate frame says, Looks like a Toyota, Sounds like a Chevy. Theres a Chevy 350 CID V8 lurking there, which is topped by an Edelbrock aluminum intake and Edlebrock 4BBL carb. The big V8 is backed by a 4-speed transmission that shifts smoothly. The cast iron exhaust manifolds help keep the noise down a bit, as well as allow the 2-into-1 exhaust and MagnaFlow muffler to stay tucked well out of the way of the nasties. Rancho RS900XL shocks keep the corners damped, and allow for plenty of off-road wheel travel, and the Rancho steering dampener helps keep steering in check. A set of Pro-Comp All-Terrain Radials in 33x12.50R15LT tires are wrapped around Centerline 8-hole aluminum wheels and have plenty of tread depth for your adventures. If you find yourself in a pickle, youll be glad you have that front bumper-mounted Warn 8274 winch, with its 8000LB capacity to get you out of trouble. This 1974 Land Cruiser is very clean, with its deep red paint and black Bimini top, and it really stands out. Youll find the interior is far more civilized than youd expect for a world traveler like this, with comfortable mid-rise bucket seats that have cloth inserts to help wick off the sweat youll generate when youre muscling this beast through the rocks. AutoMeter SportComp instruments (tach, temp, and oil pressure) keep the driver informed of vital readings. An Aiwa AM/FM/CD head unit is stashed in the glovebox and sends the tunes to a set of Pioneer 6x9 4-way speakers in a custom enclosure behind the front seats. Crown Enterprises racing seat belts will keep the driver and front seat passengers securely fastened in place when its being used for its intended extreme off-road adventures, but should you get your noggin too close to the roll bar, youll be glad that its well padded. There are no seat belts for vinyl rear bench seat, so the back seat passengers you brought to your adventure will want to watch you from outside as you take that rock run. Options on this 1974 Toyota Land Cruiser include: Aluminum Wheels, AM/FM/CD radio, 4x4, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Radial Tires, Seat Belts, and Vinyl/Cloth Seats.
