VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1969 Chevrolet El Camino for sale in Kenosha, Wisconsin

Gateway Classic Cars of Milwaukee proudly presents is 1969 Chevrolet El Camino. Few cars in history are as easily identifiable and loved like the El Camino. Over the 25 model years and 5 generations, Chevys half truck, half car has proven to be a classic from its early days when it debuted in 1959. The El Camino was created as direct competition to Fords Ranchero that hit the streets in 1957. When the Elky first came into the market it was built on the Chevrolet X-frame, it shared the same engine options and styling as the other big Chevy cars at the time like the Impala and Biscayne. Chevy pulled the line for 3 years but in 1964 the El Camino came back completely retooled on the new mid-size Chevelle platform. For the remainder of the El Caminos life it carried on as a midsized vehicle with car styling comparable to the Chevelle/Malibu but with that unmistakable pick-up truck bed! In 1968 the El Camino started its third generation giving the truck a more aggressive and muscular look, capitulating truck into the muscle car era. Super Sport versions were even made with jaw dropping looks and 396 and 454 motors were available in this era making for so very powerful little trucks! While all El Caminos seem to have a cult following, none seem to be more loved and sought after then the third generation El Caminos of 1968-1972. Our featured El Camino shows in a stunning silver paint wonderfully contrasted by red vinyl interior, red carpeting, and a matching red bed cover. The car is powered by a Chevrolet 350 ci engine hooked up to a 3-speed automatic transmission. The stance on this car looks wonderful sitting on the 5-spoke American Racing mag wheels. The car is appointed with many creature comforts like an Alpine stereo, 4-wheel power disc brakes, power steering with tilt, seat belts, a battery shut off knob and removable rubber bed liner. The truck spend much of its life in the dry New Mexico climate before being restored this truck is a solid classic anyone would be proud to cruise around in and show off a little! Take the wheel and hit the streets in this 1969 El Camino!
