The grille was again flanked by large, single rectangular headlamps with the upright parking lamps notched into the body corners. The “Conquista option offered the special paint treatment option with three tones of Blue on the top, middle and lower portions of the body. Similarly, two-tone Blue vinyl shell-type construction bucket seats were available inside with head restraints. This 1979 El Camino came with the new-for-79 small-block 267 CID (4.4l) V8 engine that was available in all states other than California.
