Entering into the late 70s Mazda decided to make a new sports car and little did they know of the legacy that would become of the RX-7! First introduced in 1978 the RX-7 known as the SA generation was well accepted in the market. Supply could not keep up with demand! Styles would change across 3 generations that would span nearly 25 years. Here we have an 83 model, but not just an 83, a Limited Edition. While over 800,000 RX-7s would be produced over 25 years, only 5000 Limited Editions were made for the 83 model year! The Limited Editions came with Chateau Silver Paint with Red Pinstriping, Maroon Velour Interior, Sunroof, 14 BBS Alloy Wheels, Limited Edition Badging, Upgraded Stereo System with Equalizer and many other features that were only optional on other RX-7s. As you walk around this car you can tell its been well maintained. The paint still looks good for being enjoyed as long as it has been. The interior is in good order with normal signs of wear. Powering this Mazda is the original factory 12A 1.2L Rotary engine mated to a 5-speed manual transmission. This car runs and drives well and shifts smooth. The current owners bought it new back in 1983 as a wedding gift to themselves and drove it cross country to their honeymoon destination. Over the years she has been babied and maintained (records available) and other items upgraded. Currently sits on 15 aftermarket wheels and the stereo was replaced. But that would not be enough, to make a statement there was significant replacements to the speakers. Tweeters by the feet, Polk speakers in the rear and two kicker sub woofers in storage compartment along with a high wattage amp and crossovers to really get the treble and bass out. Top panel of each interior door was professionally redone. This car has been a family member to them for the better part of 40 years. The owner is including a custom car cover, new front-end bra for the nose, original 13 RX7 rims (set of 4), new air filter and the radio control panel.
