VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

Used 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air for sale in Alpharetta, Georgia

Gateway Classic Cars of Atlanta s proud to present this 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air. The Chevrolet Bel Air is a full-size car that was produced by Chevrolet for the 1950-1975 model years. Initially, only the two-door hardtops in the Chevrolet model range were designated with the Bel Air name from 1950 to 1952. With the 1953 model year, the Bel Air name was changed from a designation for a unique body shape to a premium level of trim applied across several body styles. The Bel Air continued with various other trim level designations, and it went from a mid-level trim car to a budget fleet sedan when U.S. production ceased in 1975. Production continued in Canada, for its home market only, through the 1981 model year. The Bel Air received new, revamped styling for the 1955 model year. The Bel Air was 3,456 lb (1,568 kg) and 15 ft (4.6 m) long. It was called the Hot One in GMs advertising campaign. Bel Airs came with features found on cars in the lower models ranges plus interior carpet, chrome headliner bands on hardtops, chrome spears on front fenders, stainless steel window moldings, full wheel covers, and a Ferrari-inspired front grille. Models were further distinguished by the Bel Air name script in gold lettering later in the year. Powering this 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air is a 383 Cubic Inch V8 backed by a 5 Speed Tremec transmission. This 1955 Bel Air has been fitted with a posi-traction rear end with 3.73 gears. Consignor states this two-tone paint was done 3 years ago. It was also stated that the engine was rebuilt by Lamar Walden Automotive in Doraville Georgia. Some custom body work has been done such as the removal of the front bumper. Options on this 1955 Chevrolet Bel Air include: Air Conditioning, Aftermarket Pioneer Touchscreen AM/FM Radio, CD Player, Power Brakes, Power Steering, Tilt Wheel, Traction Control, Air Ride Suspension, Seat Belts, Vinyl Interior, Radial Tires, Aftermarket Alloy American Racing Wheels, Roll Bar with Bracing to the Rear.
