Mercedes-Benzs elegant Paul Bracq-designed W111 made its debut in 1959 and was produced, in its many variations, through 1971. Among the most desirable variations were the two-door models the 280 SE Cabriolet and Coupe which were expensive, virtually hand-built automobiles hailing from the great tradition of German craftsmanship The exterior is a beautiful, rich dark green with a tan leather interior and tan soft top. The leather upholstery is thick and comfortable; and both the ride quality and handling are incomparable to an American counterpart such as a Lincoln or Cadillac. These cars rapidly became favorites of international socialites and celebrities, and they were frequently seen cruising in all of the worlds most posh destinations.
